Use new gates for old fencing.
The first thing you will need is a gate, of course. Also, you will require screws, hinges, a latch, drills level, and measuring tape. The timber now expands and retracts, so you want to ensure that you have at least 20mm difference between the width of the gate frame and the width of the actual gate.
Set the gates horizontally at the appropriate height to the posts. Next, attach hinges to the ends of top, middle, and bottom wood pieces on the gate. Place the hinges in the proper place with the gate, but not on the gate’s post and screw them on with the drill.
In order to give the gate adequate space, put a plank made of wood under it. If you’re drilling hinges to the gate post then insert a few screws to each. If the gate starts to swing well it’s time to insert all the screws.
Last but not least, align your gate’s latch and screw it in with screws and your gate is all set to be installed. Watch the video for more.
